I am starting a new section on L.A. Travel Mom this week. To inspire moms to get away, escape, and relax, I’m going to suggest a special retreat once a week. Inspired by my current work on a health and wellness publication, I came across this jewel in New Mexico — El Monte Sagrado Living Resort & Spa. And Just in time, too. The resort is offering a health and wellness retreat in April.

The Health & Wellness Retreat at El Monte Sagrado Living Resort and Spa will take place on April 25-27, featuring Dr. Christine Horner. Dr. Horner is recognized as one of the world’s leading experts in prevention and natural health, and is a sought-after expert for radio and television interviews, including appearances on Oprah and Dr. Oz.

The retreat, priced at $1,295 per person, incorporates a range of luxurious offerings designed to revitalize the mind, body and spirit, including three nights’ accomodation, two power breakfasts, a welcome reception, a welcome gift, two ayurvedic lunches, an interactive healthy cooking classes, two morning yoga sessions, a 60-minute massage, five seminars with Dr. Horner, a leader-led spiritual journey and more.

The El Monte Sagrado Living Resort & Spa is part of the Kessler Collection and offers a secluded sanctuary in harmony with the Earth. Surrounded by mountains and the New Mexico desert, guests are inspired by the nurturing ambiance and mystique of the resort, with sunlit fish-filled streams, tropical flora and the sounds of calming waterfalls. From the accommodations inspired by Native American and global cultures to the Kessler family art collection from world-renowned and local artisans, El Monte Sagrado promotes wellness, relaxation and life enrichment. www.elmontesagrado.com
