Why Virgin Hotels New York Should Be Your Next Midtown Stay

If you’re planning a trip to New York City and want a hotel that combines great value, style, convenience and top-tier service, look no further than Virgin Hotels New York. Located in the heart of Manhattan and walking distance from Penn Station, this hotel offers a refreshingly modern stay that feels both indulgent and smart.

I recently stayed at Virgin Hotels New York and was genuinely impressed—not just with the aesthetic, but with how well it delivered on all the things that matter when you’re in a city like New York: location, comfort, service and food.

A Prime Midtown Location

One of the best things about Virgin Hotels New York is its unbeatable location. It’s situated in NoMad (North of Madison Square Park), which means you’re steps away from iconic NYC landmarks and just a short walk to Penn Station. If you’re arriving by train or planning to hop on the subway, it doesn’t get much more convenient than this.

Even more, getting to any of the city’s major airports—JFK, LaGuardia or Newark—is a breeze from this central spot. Whether you’re flying in for a weekend or heading out early in the morning, the ease of access makes a real difference, especially for families or solo travelers looking to simplify logistics—and save on transportation costs.

Sleek, Comfortable Rooms That Feel Thoughtful

The rooms at Virgin Hotels New York strike a rare balance in NYC—they’re both functional and chic in addition to being spacious by New York standars. My room had a sleek modern design with smart touches like separated sleeping and dressing areas, which makes unpacking and staying organized much easier, especially if you’re sharing the space.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was surprisingly quiet given the busy neighborhood outside. Every detail—from the lighting to the layout—seemed intentionally designed to make the stay more relaxing.

Plus, the Wi-Fi was fast and free (yes, truly free—no sign-ups or hidden fees), which is always a win whether you’re working remotely or just streaming something before bed.

Service That Stands Out

What really set the hotel apart, though, was the staff. From the moment I checked in, everyone I encountered was helpful, upbeat and genuinely seemed to care about creating a great experience. In a city known for fast-paced everything, it was refreshing to feel like a welcome guest rather than just another number.

Need recommendations? They’re ready with insider tips. Running late or need a luggage hold? No problem. Every interaction felt effortless in the best way.

A Restaurant Worth the Visit

Everdene, the main restaurant, was an eclectic space with cuisine to match. With warm, attentive service and an atmosphere that felt simultaneously relaxed and upscale, it quickly became one of my favorite parts of the stay.

The menu was full of elevated comfort food—delicious, satisfying and beautifully presented. Whether you’re grabbing breakfast before exploring the city or winding down with dinner and a cocktail, the space offers a welcome escape from the Midtown hustle.

A Great Value in NYC

Let’s be honest—New York is expensive. Finding a hotel that offers both quality and value can feel like a needle-in-a-haystack situation. But for the price, Virgin Hotels New York delivers. Between the stellar location, the room quality, the service and the food, it offers a truly elevated experience without the sky-high price tag of many other Midtown hotels.

Final Thoughts

Whether you’re visiting New York for work, a romantic weekend, a solo adventure or a family trip, Virgin Hotels New York is an excellent option. It’s stylish without being stuffy, vibrant without being overwhelming and centrally located without sacrificing comfort or quiet.

I’d absolutely stay here again—and next time, I’ll plan for a longer visit so I can enjoy even more of what the hotel (and the city!) has to offer.
