My favorite hotel in Santa Barbara is the Canary Hotel, a Kimpton Hotel. It might be a bit of a drag to fight Thrusday-night traffic from Los Angeles, but don’t rush. Romanticize the journey and take the coastal route. If you really want to splurge, you can even hire a driver.
