Winter is coming this weekend and fans of the HBO drama (like me!) will know that this “Game of Thrones” tour in Croatia is too good not to share. If you are a fan of the show and want to know what King’s Landing really looks like this tour will introduce you to the magic behind the stunning “Game of Thrones” locations.

The Game of Thrones: A Unique Tour of Croatia is a 7-day, guided immersion into the breathtaking locales of Split, Krka National Park, Hvar, Ston and Dubrovnik. While others may offer one-day trips to “Game of Thrones” filming locations, this week-long tour will introduce visitors to the wonders of Croatia, showcasing the best scenes from the beloved series as well as the historical and cultural highlights of this beautiful destination.

Highlights Include:

  • Explore newly added filming locations for the 4th season of “Games of Thrones” in Croatia; Split’s Diocletian’s Palace and the rugged Klis Fortress, where Daenerys memorably plots her return;
  • Immerse into Dubrovnik, the real-life setting of King’s Landing;
  • Get a lesson in falconry, which has long been regarded as the Sport of Kings;
  • Marvel at the beauty of Krka National Park and Hvar island;
  • Enjoy gastronomy delights in Ston – home to some of the world’s best and rarest oysters – and Peljesac Peninsula known for some of the best wines in Croatia.

Pricing for this private tour begins at $3,200 per person, double, based on travel during mid-season (2nd half of September). The package includes accommodation at 4-star hotels, daily breakfast, airport transfer*, land transportation, entrance fees, expert English-speaking tour guides, some additional meals and wine tastings. According to a recent study from the Griffith Institute for Educational Research in Australia, children who learned to swim at an early age were ahead of their peers in developmental milestones, such as oral expression, literacy, math and more. Considering swimming’s mental and physical benefits, it’s no wonder parents are increasingly interested in enrolling their children in swimming lessons early.

Imagine Tea is designed especially for children and will feature a remarkable touch of magic. As part of the upcoming Imagine Tea experience, junior performers from the famed Magic Castle will be on hand to entertain young tea guests, performing close-up magic while children dine on a specialty tea menu of magically-decorated cookies, ham, turkey and PB & J sandwiches and whimsical desserts, all accompanied by pink lemonade, milk and a selection of fruit-infused, caffeine-free teas.

Young tea guests will also have the opportunity to make their own magic during the tea, as they are invited to attend dressed as whichever character, person or animal most appeals to their imagination. During the tea, each child will then be invited to enjoy a special photo op on the magic stage of The Langham Huntington, Pasadena Lobby Lounge.

The first Imagine Tea is scheduled for Sunday, June 1, with seatings to be presented at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Priced at $48 for adults and $28 for children four to 12, Imagine Tea will also be offered on September 7, 2014. The BodyHoliday annual family travel retreat
The BodyHoliday annual family travel retreat

The BodyHoliday is best-known as a premiere all-inclusive resort focused on health and wellness and not for family travel. In fact, it’s an adults-only enclave with a dedication to outdoor activities and a fantastic spa. So, why is The BodyHoliday good for families? For part of the summer, the resort will welcome families with its annual Well Fit Families retreat, focused on, you guessed it, getting fit. Encouraging travelers to take a break from the typical all-inclusive vacation, the adults-only resort opens its doors to children age 12 and up between July 6 and August 31. The program, which is hosted this year by professional English rugby player Alex Goode, consists of active challenges, classes to build mental focus, and skill-building activities that are designed to encourage family bonding and friendly competition. Activities include basic first aid, CPR and lifeguard training, healthy cooking classes, a mother-daughter spa experience, father vs. son watersports competitions, abseiling adventures down waterfalls, family quiz nights, and concludes with a spirited family beach-athlon. Pricing from $482/person/night (all-inclusive rates include a daily spa treatment). www.thebodyholiday.com
